Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of Graduate Research Management Committee include:
Policy and Advisory Role
- Advising University authorities on all matters related to the promotion of advanced studies and research.
- Reviewing and recommending policies related to graduate research.
- Proposing regulations governing the award of MPhil/MS and PhD degrees.
- Ensuring compliance with HEC policies and maintaining academic standards.
Postgraduate and Doctoral Program Oversight
- Considering and reporting to the University authorities on the institution of research degrees.
- Ensuring effective implementation of MPhil/MS and PhD rules and regulations.
- Monitoring research progress and compliance with approved procedures.
Research Supervision and Thesis Management
- Approving research topics, thesis titles, and research synopses.
- Appointing supervisors and supervisory committees.
- Reviewing matters related to supervision, examiner appointments, and thesis evaluation.
Examination and Degree Recommendations
- Recommending and approving panels of paper setters, internal and external examiners, including foreign evaluators.
- Coordinating the overall integrity and quality of thesis submission, defense, and evaluation processes.
- Approving degree awarding recommendations for successful candidates.
Additional Functions and Responsibilities
- Performing any other functions as prescribed under the University Statutes.
